We’ve all heard the phrase “confidence is key,” and sometimes that key is jailed by perceived limitations and fear. These can both hold us back or prevent us from achieving goals. The only way to unlock the key is to identify negative thoughts and challenge them.

When you set SMART goals, you break down larger challenges into manageable steps. This helps ease pressure and, in turn, builds confidence one success at a time.


For example, instead of vaguely saying, “I need to be more confident at work,” try reframing it as: “I will contribute at least one idea in each team meeting for the next month to improve my visibility and communication skills.”
